PROJECT:

Pilosio’s Building the Peace Award was launched in 2011 with the aim of granting recognition to those who design and build in order to improve the lives of people throughout the entire planet, promoting conditions that create a peaceful atmosphere of tolerance and social cohesion between peoples.

The ceremony to present the award takes place annually at a major event that brings together the sector’s major players, along with other leading figures, in order to create an opportunity to reflect on the ways in which the construction world can help the development of a modern civil society.

Over the years the event hosted hundreds of business man of the construction industry, institutional figures and guests coming from all over the globe.

In the last edition of the Award, held in Venice the 12th September, Hon. Samia Nkrumah, Chairperson and leader of the Convention People’s Party and Founder of KNAC (Kwame Nkrumah Pan African Centre), was officially named the winner of the 4th edition of the Pilosio Building Peace Award. The award was granted for her “commitment to follow her father’s vision towards realizing a self-reliant, peaceful and united Africa” as well as for promoting the ambitious project to construct a presidential library dedicated to the legacy of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, designed by the architect Mario Cucinella.
